The NCDV Team

Home  About Us  The NCDV Team

The NCDV team is made of up of day-to-day operational staff, non-operational staff, hundreds of trainee laywers and other volunteers, dedicated trustees and a core management team. Though not everyone is shown here, we hope you find us all to be helpful and friendly.

Steve Connor

Steve Connor, CEO

Steve founded NCDV in 2002 (then the London Centre for Domestic Violence) and has since worked tirelessly to ensure its continued growth and development. He is a qualified barrister and experienced family law advocate. Steve recently accepted a Visiting Fellowship at City University London allowing him to obtain a doctorate. His other big passion is his dog, Bingo (see below).

Carol Wilson

Carol Wilson, PA to CEO

Carol is responsible for keeping our CEO busy, organised and always prepared for upcoming events. She takes care of many of the day-to-day matters, as well as overseeing longer-term projects undertaken by Steve. Carol's previous PA roles within Parliament and similar spheres have been invaluabe to NCDV for establishing relationships with ministers, civil servants and numerous politicians.

Glynis Dunkley

Glynis Dunkley, Trustee

Glynis performed the role of Operations Manager prior to Mark Groves arrival in 2008, having been with the charity since its inception in 2002. This experience within the domestic violence field has helped Glynis in her new position as a Trustee. As part of the NCDV Board of Trustees she provides NCDV with guidance and direction when important decisions arise.

Mark Groves

Mark Groves, National Operations Manager

Mark has responsibility for the day-to-day operations at NCDV. This includes managing the delivery of the NCDV case-building agency service, supporting the Process Serving Department and liaising with our national network of Panel Member firms of solicitors. Miraculously however the stress of it all never seems to show. Mark's biggest achievement thus far has been revising the NCDV case database.

Emma Cavaliero

Emma Cavaliero, Operations Assistant

Emma works closely with Mark to help manage day-to-day operations at NCDV. She is the first port of call for many, liasing with case workers, operational staff, clients, police officers, prison teams and more to ensure a speedy service is delivered to all. Emma's on-going legal training makes her a knowledgeable, irreplaceable component of the NCDV engine.

Kate Jones

Kate Jones, Agency Coordinator

Kate is a trained call operator and performs various roles at NCDV. Her most recent and important involves coordinating NCDV's work with other support organisations in the domestic violence field. She is responsible for ensuring everyone has access to NCDV literature, including cards, posters, brochures, mouse mats, pens, mugs and more! Kate is known for her constant optimism and overall affability.

Jacquie Draycott

Jacqui Draycott, Accounts Manager

Jacqui is responsible for managing the accounts at NCDV. She joined NCDV having worked as a credit manager for many years. Her experience and expertise within accounting have helped the charity make significant improvements. She is friendly, efficient and always helpful.

Matthew Hutton

Matthew Hutton, Call Operator

Matthew joined NCDV after completing his Legal Practitioners Course (LPC) at Guildford College of Law. This legal training and broader experience with the court system makes him an invaluable member of the team. Matthew helps with volunteer management when possible and can be regularly found at McKenzie Friend training events. During breaks from call handling Matthew enjoys taking Bingo for energetic walks.

Nicola Dobson

Nicola Dobson, Call Operator

Nicola  joined NCDV after completing her Legal Practitioners Course (LPC) at Guildford College of Law.  She is a strong advocate for fighting domestic violence and undertakes other related activities outside of NCDV to this end. When not handling calls Nicola brainstorms fundraising ideas and helps coordinate volunteer social events.

Emma Wallace

Emma Wallace, Case Worker

Emma works predominantly as a case worker and McKenzie Friend supervisor. She can frequently be picked out at training and fundraising events for being the warm, enthusiastic personality  trying to meet everyone's needs. She is an aspiring lawyer with plans to practice as a solicitor in the near future. Emma is one of our longest-serving staff members and will hopefully be with us for a long time yet!

Max Byrne

Max Byrne, Law Intern

Max is the second intern to join NCDV in our recent partnership with the University of Surrey. He is a concientious hard worker with a bright legal mind. Max joined NCDV after spending six months in Brussles working for the European Commission. He is a keen advocate and frequently travels the length of the country to ensure litigants are properly assisted at court. Max plans to eventually practise at the Bar.

Dominic Hoskins

Dominic Hoskins, Law Intern

Dominic was the first law student to complete a six-month work placement with us at the Guildford office as part of a new partnership between the University of Surrey Law Department and NCDV. He performed a wide range of tasks whilst with us, including legal research, administrative tasks, client management and court advocacy. As the first in a long line of future interns, Dom will always be one of the team.

Bingo Boxer

Bingo Boxer, Staff Support

Bingo is without doubt the favourite in the NCDV team, winning over just about everyone she comes into contact with. She does this effortlessly without rest or complaint. What Bingo has in looks she sadly lacks in brains however (as most Boxer owners will confirm), but none are better at raising team spirits after a long stressful day!

Larissa

Larissa Knogel, International Student Officer

Larissa joined NCDV whilst completing undergraduate studies in law at the University of Surrey. After several months of working as a McKenzie Friend caseworker Larissa showed such committment to the charity that the new role of International Student Officer was developed with her in mind. She represents the interersts and concerns of international students at NCDV. She is originally from Germany.

Mads

Mads Willett, Project Co-Ordinator

Mads has just joined the NCDV as the first Business Management intern to be taken on. He will be helping with all aspects of business that needs to be handled within NCDV such as marketing, events, projects, website management etc. On top of this he is also the person who is responsible for managing the McKenzie friends. We are excited to see what he will be able to do with the operations functions within NCDV. He is originally from Denmark.

Katherine

Katherine Rattle, Intern

Katherine is the newest law intern that has joined NCVD. She studies law at the University of Surrey and will be a part of the team the next 6 months. She has shown great interest in Family Law and hopes to study this in her final year. Katherine hopes to become a Solicitor in the future and hopefully her training at the NCDV will put her in great stead for a career in law.
